Prof. Yong Wang obtained Ph. D. in Polymer Physics and Chemistry from Sichuan University and joined Southwest Jiaotong University in 2004. He was awarded Alexander von Humboldt Fellowship in 2004 and the ‘Renewed Research’ from AvH in 2014. Prof. Wang has served as a professor of Polymer Science and Engineering and director of Polymer Materials and Engineering Department in Southwest Jiaotong University since 2010. His research activities are mainly related to polymeric composites, and he has authored more than 160 peer-reviewed articles in international journals with more than 2200 citations.



Yong J. Yuan received the Ph.D. degree in biosensors from the University of Western Sydney, Australia, in 1997. He was a Research Chemist with CSIRO from 1997 to 1999, where he was involved in oxygen scavenging materials. As a Guest Researcher from 1999 to 2000 with the Agency of Industrial Science and Technology in Japan, he was involved in the metabolic oscillation of yeast. And then, promoted to a Research Program Leader at Industrial Research Limited of Crown Research Institutes of New Zealand from 2000 to 2009, he conducted research on biochips by the integration of novel materials, structures, devices, and processes. He is currently a Professor of BioMEMS with the School of Materials Science and Engineering at Southwest Jiaotong University. His current research interests include biomedical sensors, MEMS, nano/microdevices, and fabrication.



Prof. Sheng-Nian Luo is Director of the Peac Institute of Multiscale Sciences (PIMS), a Distinguished Professor of Materials Physics at Southwest Jiaotong University, and a “1000-Talent Plan” Scholar of the Chinese Central Government. He obtained his B.S. and Ph.D. from the University of Science and Technology of China, and California Institute of Technology, respectively, and had been a permanent physicist at Physics Division, Los Alamos National Laboratory before he returned to China in 2012. His research focuses on dynamic behaviors of materials, shock physics, matter at dynamic extremes, chemical reactions, and ultrafast diagnostics based on femtosecond lasers and advanced X-ray sources such as synchrotrons and XFELs, and high performance computation. He has published 180 journal papers.

I am a professor of biomaterials at School of Materials Science and Engineering, Southwest Jiaotong University. My current research interests are biomaterials design, controlled drug release for cancer treatment and tissue regeneration.

I received my B.A. in 1991 from Fudan University, M.Sc. in Polymer Chemistry and Physics in 1994 from Chengdu Institute of Organic Chemistry, Chinese Academy of Sciences, and Ph.D. in Chemistry in 1999 from Institute of Chemistry, Chinese Academy of Sciences.

I was a postdoctoral fellow in College of Pharmacy, Ohio State University (2000-2002) and Department of Biomedical Engineering, Johns Hopkins University (2002-2004).

I have over 100 publications to my credit that include research papers and reviews. I am a member of Controlled Release Society (CRS), Tissue Engineering and Regenerative Medicine International Society (TERMIS), and Chinese Committee of Biomaterials (CCBM).



Guojiang Wan is currently a full professor of materials science in the key laboratory of advanced technologies of materials (Ministry of Education) and School of Materials Science and Engineering, Southwest Jiaotong University. He obtained his BSc in Chemical Engineering and MSc degree in Applied Electrochemistry at Sichuan University, and his PhD degree at Southwest Jiaotong University in Materials Science. He did his senior visiting fellow research at the McGowan Institute for Regenerative Medicine (University of PittsburghUSA), postdoc research at Leibniz Institute for Solid State and Materials Research (IFW-Dresden, Germany) in Nanoscience and visiting research (Research Associate) at the Department of Applied Physics of City University of Hongkong. He is keeping firmly international cooperation with more than above contacts such as University of Tübingen (Germany) and is presently hosting/supervising international visiting scholars such as Dr. Hanaa Soliman who is doing her posdoc research in his group.  His research focuses on biomaterials and surface modification, nanotechnology as well as regenerative medicine, particularly on biodegradable metallic materials very recently. He has coordinated many scientific grants from the National Key Research and Development Plan, National Natural Science foundation of China and international cooperation projects like Sino-German joint program (PPP) etc.. He has authored and co-authored more than 100 peer-reviewed journal papers. He served as session chair/co-chair in several international academic meetings and is currently board member of the Materials Specialties in China Youth Association for Science and Technology, committee member of the nano-biotechnology branch of China Medicinal Biotech Association, youth committee member of the Chinese Society for Biomaterials, distinguished academic youth leader of the Sichuan Province and a member of the executive council of the Sichuan Youth Association for Science and Technology.



Chen Hui, Dean of Qingdao Graduate School of Southwest Jiaotong University; Deputy Director of National Laboratory for Rail Transportation / Advanced Welding and Surface Engineering Technology Research Center of Sichuan Province; set up “Key Materials and Services Safety Assessment Technology of Rail Transportation” team, Sichuan Youth Science and Technology Innovation Research Team leader, Sichuan Province outstanding expert.

The main research direction is material processing and surface engineering. He has presided over more than 50 million research funding; co-published 3 monographs; published more than 120 papers, which SCI / EI included more than 70.

Shaobing Zhou received his B.S. degree in polymer chemistry from Sichuan University and Ph.D. degree in Chinese Academy of Sciences. He is a Full Professor at Southwest Jiaotong University (P.R.China). His research interests include drug controlled release system and tissue engineering scaffold. He is the author or coauthor of more than 120 refereed articles, 1 book chapter and 10 Chinese patents/patent applications. He has been cited over 3600 times and has an h-index of 38. Currently he is one of associate editors of the journal: American Journal of Materials Science and Technology and is also an ad-hoc reviewer for more than 40 international journals such as Advanced Materials, Angew Chem Int Edit, Biomaterials, Macromolecules, Journal of Controlled release.



Shuxin Qu is currently a Professor in school of Material Science and Engineering of Southwest Jiaotong University. Prof. Qu received her Bachelor’s Degree in Material Science and Engineering, a Master Degree in Condensed Matter Physics and a PhD in Biomedical Engineering at Sichuan University in 1989, 1992 and 2002, respectively. Her research interesting is currently on biomaterials, biotribology and 3D printing. From 1992 to 2002 she continued her studies in Sichuan University. She joined Southwest Jiaotong University since 2002. She has visited The Chinese University of Hong Kong, The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology and The Hong Kong Polytechnic University in 2000, 2001 and 2012, respectively. She has got three items of research grants from the National Natural Science Foundation of China, three items of grants from Ministry of Education and two items of grant from Science and Technology Department of Sichuan Province. She has published more than 100 peer-viewed journal papers. She has more than 10 items of patents authorized. She has won the one prize of National Natural Science (The Second Grade), and one prize of Natural Science from Ministry of Education (The First Grade).



Weiqing Yang was a Professor of Southwest Jiaotong University and a Thousands of Talents of Sichuan Province since 2014. He received his PhD in Materials and Science Engineering from Sichuan University in 2011. He was a post-doctorate research fellow at University of Electronic Science and Technology of China from 2011 to 2013. Subsequently, he was a post-doctorate research fellow at Georgia Institute of Technology from 2013 to 2014, under the supervision of Prof. Zhonglin Wang. His current research focuses on nanoenergy materials, micro-nanodevices, optoelectronic devices and micro-nanofabrication. He has authored and co-authored over 108 peer reviewed journal articles (19 in Adv. Mater. Nano Lett. ACS Nano, etc journals of IF>10), 7 ESI highly cited papers, and held over 30 patents. His works were specially reported by more than 20 famous medias, such as NSF, New scientists etc.



Gou Guoqing ,Male, 38, Ph.D, Professor, Ph.D candidate supervisor, Assistant Dean of School of Materials Science and Engineering. Visiting Professor of University of Toronto( U of T) of Canada, Visiting professor of University of Auckland( U of A) of New Zealand. The major research area is including :(1) Residual Stress and Damage of High Speed Trains and its effect;(2) Corrosion Damage and Fracture of Welded Structures. The research funding is approximately 8000 thousand RMB( approximately 1,200 thousand Dollars). He had published SCI/EI papers more than thirty. He had gotten three invented patents and six Utility model patents and wrote one book. He had gotten one Science and Technology Award of Sichuan Province, one Teaching Award of Sichuan Province and one Outstanding Young Professor Award of Welding Research of Sichuan Province.
